Everything has the normal IDE connection. And because SATA is new-ish I'd guess an older computer wouldn't support SATA. Nope.

The harddrive is an IDE device and it can trasfer data at different rates. ATA-100 is faster then ATA-33. What you do want to worry about is if the drive uses a Serial ATA (SATA) connection. This is different then the normal IDE connection.
