Uh, guys? Y'all still want to play?

Yeah, I'm still in. I just haven't had much time, what with all the family stuff this weekend. Should have something up later tonight or tomorrow.

Yeah holiday weekend means you should be patient man-my bet is everyone is pressed for time.

Time? I just finished throwing the last of the relatives out the door about an hour ago.

Sorry, ins and outs of holidays and just feeling rather lost in regards to what to do in the game at the moment, Koriel isn't all that proactive

Right, here we go again in my way of managing to confuse D&Ders by dumb questions. Channel consensus was ask the GM what constitutes living, ie, do cure spells work on plants as plant is a creature type?

Posted: Tue Nov 30, 2004 7:46 pm
by Ancient History
Uh...yesss, plants /do/ can be the target of cure spells. Please note however, anything within the circle is past a cure spell. Hell, it's past mulch.

Player vs character :) But I had to ask before posting something that not only doesn't work, but its rules wise impossible :)

And we even managed to restrain ourselves. We didn't even draw crude phali on his face with permanent markers. And like Scamp, last paper's done. Once a reply goes up, Selreth will continue.

Hey Scamp, just clarifying, Jartha''s "No, never again" was that in response to Luadril's comment, or the fact she had the nerve to touch him?

Posted: Fri Dec 17, 2004 1:34 am
by TheScamp
Well, it's intended as a response to the comment, but take it how you like. I mean, Jarthal doesn't give a hell of a lot of social cues, you know? :)

Okay this may make me the asshole here, but so be it.

First we need to all take a serious look at what was actually said and done, and cue off that not the "thought balloons" so to speak. I think maybe we all need to communicate with each other more here, otherwise I know I will continue to be frustrated.

Ancient what the hell are we doing here? Is this scene important to kill this much time on? I mean I have posted on a regular basis here, and the game has gone dick forward in my opinion. Hell as far as I can tell reika, Scamp, Kai and I are the only ones playing.

I admit this may not be couth, so feel free to rip me a new one.

I dunno, the pacing just seems off. The times where we could have gotten into character interaction seemed to be cut short and now really doesn't seem the time to be having long discussions even though we seem to have the time.

No arguements from me Paul. TBH I thought the game had died for awhile there, hence why I hadn't done very much for a bit since I was afraid I was hogging the spotlight. I have been trying to help get the game get going, but was told that PB3s are like this.

I also agree a hundred percent about the thought bubbles stuff, especially seeing my char is very good at picking up the attitudes of the people around her. She may not say the right things being that she's a paladin and everyone else is a bit more laid back, but she can pick up on the 'tudes.

I think part of the problem is the number of people we have. The weird thing is I can handle up to 6 people in an irc game, yet I think that's too many for a PB3. Those of us who can post more often will leave the others in the dust without meaning to.

Sorry--I'm out-of-town and haven't been able to check up in the last few days.

The game's pace is as slow as the slowest poster, I'm afraid. I really thought it had died too.

The reason this "scene" is taking so long is because your characters tend not to do much...they talk, they have personalities, etc. but there's not much...action. we've spent the last dozen posts and couple weeks half-discussing whether or not to head toward the light.

I want you all to post the actions your character does...if someone does not post, either ask me what they're doing or assume that they're following the majority of the group. Actions can be short, or detailed, I really don't care. "I stealthily walk skirt around the village toward the light." works fine.

Posted: Mon Dec 20, 2004 2:21 pm
by Kai
Well that's unfortunatly part of the character. Koriel doesn't do much unless asked or following Luadril. I've done what I can, and I guess that's my fault for making a passive character in a non character driven PB3 , but it would break character quite a bit for her to be proactive or forward in any way.

Posted: Mon Dec 20, 2004 3:34 pm
by Ancient History
I dinnae care is you're character's a submissive and wants Luadril as her dominatrix! You could dote, or look around, or follow her around like a lost puppy, or well...I dunno. I don't want to preach tot he choir on this, unfrotuantely, I think that's who's listening.

Also, Reika: As you hover above the trees, you notice a /great/ deal of smoke coming from the direction of the village, more than is normal...it seems like something large is on fire.

Maybe it's the fact that both school and the Pushy Evil Retail Holiday Season are over, but something just struck me.

Did we lose anything in the Bright Circle of Burnination?

Yes. A five-pound loaf of halfling trail bread was reduced beyond the point of toast, and you lost all the jam for your lambas bread.

I'm back from vacation...are we giving the game last rites, or killing the chicken to resurrect it?

Sorry, I keep wanting to post, but feel totally uninspired. My char's natural reaction is to give warning about the fire and go to investigate, but I know both OOCly and ICly what the reactions are going to be and don't feel up to dealing with them atm.

by Torin Proud
Torin will, providing I can make some sort of initiative roll, ready his sword and quickly scan the area for cover and concealment.

Posted: Thu Jan 06, 2005 2:20 pm
by Ancient History
Okay, Initiative is as follows: Luadril first, then Rasiel and Torin, then Selreth and Koriel, then Razbar, then your scaly opponents, and then Jarthal.

The three reptilian humanoids are 30 feet away and currently moving toward you across the ashy, smoking ground.

Luadril, are you making a melee attack? If so, let me no if you're using any options like "Full Attack."

Heh. That's cool. Happens sometimes.

Do we all declare actions first, or do I wait till everyone else has gone to do anything?

Hm, so need to get one of the combat feats for winged characters. ;)

Probably will regret this, but she's going to do a flying charge into the black-scaled reptilionoid.

Posted: Fri Jan 07, 2005 2:22 am
by Ancient History
I would advise waiting to see what others do, but I'll leave it to you.

Flying charge...add modifier for masterwork weapon (I assume you're using the masterwork longsword?)...and roll damage...ooh, max damage, that's messy...add strength modifier...right, you kill your opponent with that attack. Feel free to post the combat and the result with flavor text, Reika, unless you want me to.

Torin: you don't spot any real cover on the ashy field, unless you want to cover yourself in ash and lie down in it.

Ouch! I'll have to come up with something suitablly messy. ;)

We may want to consider seeing if we can take one of them alive for questioning. btw Luadril can speak Draconic in case that's the language the reptiloids are using.

Posted: Sun Jan 09, 2005 1:35 am
by Ancient History
Elldren hasn't responded yet, so we'll say Rasiel is readying her weapons. That means it's Selreth and Koriel's turn.

Reika: The reptilian creatures /are/ speaking Draconic, and are right now howling how much they expect winged elves to taste like chicken.

AH: Is it possible to catch all three of them in a 15-foot cone-shaped burst of burning hands without catching the allied melee combatants?

Edit: Not all three, but rather, the remaining two. It looks like one was already severed.

Posted: Wed Jan 12, 2005 10:52 pm
by Ancient History
Raz: No. You're too far away for a 15-foot cone to reach them.

Posted: Thu Jan 13, 2005 5:03 am
by Razbar ibn Mujallah
Well, throw me an untrained ride check to see if I can dismount as a free action. If so, I'll move and then cast.

Posted: Thu Jan 13, 2005 3:46 pm
by Ancient History
...why don't you just ride the damn horse closer?

Posted: Thu Jan 13, 2005 7:40 pm
by Razbar ibn Mujallah
Oh, I didn't realize I had a warhorse.
In that case, yes.

Posted: Thu Jan 13, 2005 7:49 pm
by Razbar ibn Mujallah
If I can catch both of them in the 15 foot cone after moving, that'd be keen. It's a Reflex DC 18 for half of 1d4 fire damage. (Fear my wrath)
