Oh no, Caz. I'm still there. I'm not missing GC even if I have to leap tall buildings in a single bound to get there. Cause, y'know, I'm just a SuperChic like that.
Sucks that you're not coming though, Szech. Hope everythings going well for ya man.

Long story short, I'm simply not interested enough in gaming at this point to warrant the cost. Knowing my habits, it'd come to like $1000CD for everything, plus an additional $300+ from the missed week of work.
That's a third of what I'm making this summer. I can't afford that right now. But if I have extra cash from my tax returns next April, I'll be visiting you guys wherever you may end up being.

Pretty much the same story here. Though I doubt that anyone was still expecting me at GenCon or a possible Gathering, it's highly unlikely that I'll make it there this year. Have fun without me. :o)
One time I built a matter transporter, but things got screwed up (long story, lol) and I ended up turning into a kind of half-human, half-housefly monstrosity.

The "stalking" also consisted of a bunch of shouting. It was like we were laying the groundwork for xXx that we saw a few days later. It was like Caz and I were sort of getting our primal wavepatterns in synch.Cazmonster wrote:I was in an altered state of conciousness and we were only at the con for about five hours all told.

I may or may not be coming there, it kinda depends on weather I have my own place again by then... I don't think Aaron is going either, but if lil' john wants to go as well, I'll sell my ass on the street to assure my attendence...

Feck. But on the house, is it just swank or super-swank?Instant Cash wrote:Unfortunatly, since the new IC/Jaded Swank townhome fund is soaking up all cash, no GC for us either.

As noted in game thread -- Barring exceptional misfortune, I will be at least in Indianapolis, and more than likely at GenCon itself.

Well, the job market has become even worse lately, as if that was possible, so I still lack employment, and thus won't be attending this year.

Well, you could go to Indy early and Drive a pedal cab. Speaking of which, if I were driving, how many of you going would want a ride (and tip reasonably )?Kwyndig wrote:Well, the job market has become even worse lately, as if that was possible, so I still lack employment, and thus won't be attending this year.

Actually, if it turns out I can get the time free, I'm on the way.
There is then a need to guard against a temptation to overstate the economic evils of our own age, and to ignore the existence of similar, or worse, evils in earlier ages. Even though some exaggeration may, for the time, stimulate others, as well as ourselves, to a more intense resolve that the present evils should no longer exist, but it is not less wrong and generally it is much more foolish to palter with truth for good than for a selfish cause. The pessimistic descriptions of our own age, combined with the romantic exaggeration of the happiness of past ages must tend to setting aside the methods of progress, the work of which, if slow, is yet solid, and lead to the hasty adoption of others of greater promise, but which resemble the potent medicines of a charlatan, and while quickly effecting a little good sow the seeds of widespread and lasting decay. This impatient insincerity is an evil only less great than the moral torpor which can endure, that we with our modern resources and knowledge should look contentedly at the continued destruction of all that is worth having. There is an evil and an extreme impatience as well as an extreme patience with social ills.
