Refraining from being inappropriate.
So frankly my inappropriate meter has never really functioned that well, but as I progress well into my career I discover more and more that not only am I perhaps too brutally honest at times, but I forget that other people actually have... you know... feelings.
So I thought to discuss how people felt about both social appropriateness, and people who are either too honest, or not honest enough. I'll chime in again too!

I have a very badly tuned meter. I go from "disengagement" where I don't care enough to bother telling you what's wrong straight to "over-sharing" where I just lay things out in their nakedness. I've tried modulating it, and then I get everyone confused.
Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, become critics. They also misapply overly niggling inerpretations of Logical Fallacies in place of arguing anything at all.
Buttsex!
There is then a need to guard against a temptation to overstate the economic evils of our own age, and to ignore the existence of similar, or worse, evils in earlier ages. Even though some exaggeration may, for the time, stimulate others, as well as ourselves, to a more intense resolve that the present evils should no longer exist, but it is not less wrong and generally it is much more foolish to palter with truth for good than for a selfish cause. The pessimistic descriptions of our own age, combined with the romantic exaggeration of the happiness of past ages must tend to setting aside the methods of progress, the work of which, if slow, is yet solid, and lead to the hasty adoption of others of greater promise, but which resemble the potent medicines of a charlatan, and while quickly effecting a little good sow the seeds of widespread and lasting decay. This impatient insincerity is an evil only less great than the moral torpor which can endure, that we with our modern resources and knowledge should look contentedly at the continued destruction of all that is worth having. There is an evil and an extreme impatience as well as an extreme patience with social ills.

I have problems in this area. While I try to keep my work hat on when I am at work, kids will do things that make me angry and I yell and holler at them, which isn't very professional. At this point in life I yam what I yam and there is little change that happens over the long haul. I can sit at the adult table when I have to.
This is why I choke you when we fuck.

Welcome to roleplaying in real life. Sometimes, you can say what the everloving fuck is wired wrong in your brain, sometimes you have to pretend to be an understanding person and say, yes, I completely understand that you can't come to work because you don't know where your car is, we'll count it as a sick day. Some roles are easier/better than others :7

10:42 Adam: ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER!
10:44 Kai: Fuck off, how's that? ;P
10:45 Adam: Much better.
